HapusGuess you working hard on this task . I love the way you can managed it
HapusI really appreciate Rani's answer, and all the answers are very satisfying
Hapusthe answer you made is very good, good job!!
HapusYour answer is in accordance with what is conveyed in the film. Great!
Hapuswhen carol said when the meal is ready and they all sit together, talking about their day. i think that's really cute
HapusSo far, your answers and responses are very connected, friends
HapusYou are right. I appreciate your effort in analyzing the dialogue in the video. You are good at adjusting some sentences right or wrong. I realized that James lives in a homestay that has a rule of not sharing his room with friends. It aims to maintain the privacy of the people who occupy the homestay and avoid ongoing conflicts if both people have problems.
HapusThen, the false statement about Carolina cleaning her room only Tuesday. After I watched the video, I argued that Carolina is an individual who diligently cleans the house and has a tidy personality. Rarely do I meet people and talk to me that he only sweeps once a week. Indeed, several types of people like that, but it is not a good habit, especially since the room we live in gets dirty quickly due to activities that bring dirt from outside into the room.
Furthermore, statement number 4 indicates Carolina can play tennis. I did not think Carolina could play such a sport, plus the statement she played tennis with her house mum. Carolina and her house mum share a passion for sports, so playing tennis is a great way to have positive fun.
After that, I move on to statement number 5, and the statement does not match the content of the video. The school does not adhere to a full-day school system. The students go home at noon. I understand that the school knows that some of its students live in homestays and that students who migrate far from their home countries have to live independently by doing academic work and doing other household chores such as sweeping, cooking, and washing clothes.
For statement number 6, I notice Carolina as a perfect Homestay host, and she always makes meals for all students every night. He understands the feelings of overseas students who are not good at cooking because they rarely try to help their mother cook in the kitchen while still living in the same house. Carolina is dedicated to lightening the burden of students living in homestays, and she does not want the students to go out every night looking for food, which makes their expenses higher.
Finally, in statement number 7, Carolina denied that the food she made did not taste good. Comments from people who live at the Homestay say that Carolina's cooking is delicious, given that Carolina has experience in the field of cooking. She is already old but has not lost her enthusiasm for helping others, and I commend Carolina's actions at Homestay.

Answer : According to james, the homestays help in ways to perhaps speaking from the language basically until speaking with somebody else.
2. How does Silvia think the homestay family can help learns ?
Answer : Silvia thinks, of course the homestay family can help learns, because they give everything, food, accommodation, laundry, everything and conversation. so that will make she enjoyed learners.
3. What does Carol say about students who stay in a dormitory ?
Answer : Carol say, the student in dormitory more likely to meet people of the same nationality and not practise your english as well as you would if you were at a homestay when you're in a homestay you have to speak english.
4. In what ways does Cristina think her host family helps her ?
Answer : In Cristina's host family she have the chance to speak with them and to practise the english accent. And she things hearing them always speaking at dinner time, thats help she a lot to see how to speak. she thinks by hearing a lot her learn also.
5. In What situation does Joy think a lot of learning takes place ?
Answer : Joy thinks, a lot of learn take place in situation at dining room, and acrosss the table.
How about you guys? is it the same as my answer ?
Such a good writing Nur. I agreed and there is nothing i can say more
HapusI totally agree with yours!
HapusI see exactly what you mean and i agree with your answer!
HapusSo, we can imagine even though we're far away from our own house, we can still the joy and the warm thru our host family.
Hapusthat's true nur, because indeed a place can also help us learn and mingle with other people what more when we eat together we can talk so that it can train us in speaking
Hapusyes good answer Nur, and I totally agree with the first point that basic language plays an important role in life
HapusI couldn't agree more with your answer, Nurliana. For question number 1, I'm sure that Homestay is a means to develop James' English conversation skills. He lives in a country that requires English as the primary language in socializing, thus requiring its citizens to use that language. As is the case with James, he can correct him right away if he misspoke when he meets a native Englishman. The different accents meant that James and his friends had to pay more attention to what people had to say.
HapusI move to question number 2, and I believe Silvia is happy to live with a family homestay that has provided the necessities of life. The service activities did not escape what was witnessed by Silvia. The people at the Homestay helped ease the burden of daily work. All lines have become the responsibility of the Homestay family, so Silvia is not bothered by the complexity of dealing with what has to be done daily and she can focus on learning English to the fullest.
In question number 5, Joy has her learning style. She learns in the dining room and across the table. For me, that's something I've just heard, and I've never met anyone with that way of learning. Joy's method is commendable for her sincere intention to learn from the heart.

HapusActivity 5
BalasHapusConsider the film's opening quote from the British Council again:
"Complete immersion...is often the best way to develop your language skills."
1. What is complete immersion?
Complete Immersion or language bath is a method of teaching a second language in which the learners’ second language is the medium of classroom instruction. This reduces the students’ dependence on their first language, thereby accelerating the process of learning. In short, education approach the teaches by placing a student directly in the target of language's environment. This is the most common way of learning foreign languages.
2. Why is it seen as such a good way to learn a language?
Complete Immersion seen to be the most good, natural and authentic way to learning a new language because it allows us to truly experience almost all aspects of life in the language you're learning. It's fair to say complete Immersion seems to be the holy grail of language learning.
3. Is it possible to get some of the benefits of "complete Immersion" without going to an English speaking country? If so, how?
Absolutely, it's possible to get the benefits of complete Immersion without going to the country (thanks to covid-19). There are some way to immerse ourselves:
1. Mingle and make friends with native speakers through internet and language exchange events.
2. Watch movies and series, listen to songs and podcasts or read.
3. Use an English-to-English dictionary.
4. Find an online tutor or an online app.
5. Get a label maker or Post-It notes.
What about you guys? any thought?
Waww good job tya!You can managed to classify what is the meaning of immersion.
HapusNice ,i agree with you
HapusI understand your answer ra, good job.
HapusIt's really good!! Absolutely right Tyara.
Hapusnice tyra, your answer is very good
HapusThe way you write about things to do to immerse ourselves is so good
HapusSo, it must be great to have experience such a thing like this, learning thru the true nature and all aspects on its language country. Sadly, we're still facing corona virus but you still can get the benefits like i wrote in the text
Hapusyes that's right tyara. not only beautiful nature also provides peace
HapusIn my opinion, the meaning of complete immersion has been described using excellent and easy to understand sentence structure. Accurate and complete immersion is the right step to deepen English material. Mingling in the long term with the surrounding environment where people use English certainly strengthens our brain sensitivity. Just as we used Indonesian as a child, the family environment supports the process of understanding language within us.
HapusBack again to complete immersion, we can see further between the words and actions of native speakers. Culture, when spoken in English-speaking countries, is a priceless treasure. All aspects are connected in the complete immersion method, so this method effectively speeds up how to speak English according to native speakers. From the optional methods that Tyara has given, there are various and we have to choose which one we like. This option is an alternative for someone unable to go to an English-speaking country directly because they are not financially capable and other reasons such as the Covid-19 pandemic, which limits the mobility of the world's people.
Activity 6
BalasHapusAca : Morning Ananta, so I heard that you study in the UK with your host family? Is that right ?so how about them are they nice?
Nan : Morning too, well yes I have been recently study abroad for short term 2 weeks in UK. Well my host family really nice, they are really loyal and decent.
Aca : Glad too hear that, so I have a question for you. What do you think is a good location to make a homestay ?
Nan : As far as I know a great location to make a homestay is near the university that you studies for and near the groceries. Of course get a homestay with a cozy features are a bonus for our pleasant.
Aca : yeah I agreed, and what kind of design is attractive?
Nan : well I think the design is the most attractive is minimalist and vintage design. Because the aesthethic of vintage will remind you with your nostalgia, you can put books ,stories and many old things that you like. With minimalist combination you can make a small place is more organized. But you know every person have their own taste
Aca : yeah I can feel your hype about design. So you already talking about stuff like books or stories so what other facilities should be provided?
Nan : I think extra facilities that you should provided is thermostat/hot blower, because in UK its quite cold no doubts. So you need warm air to keep yourself healthy. And maybe like Indonesian tradition you can add “semprotan” in the restroom. Since in UK you use toilet paper.
Aca : Well if you mean Indonesian tradition , it means many southeast students are doing study abroad right. It means we needs good advertisment. Do you think online advertising is good marketing?
Nan : yeah of course, since its pandemic its quite hard to make offline advertisment. You can make some advertisement in google scholarship or online group that require scholarship. You need to fit the location of marketing first then advertise it.
Aca : How about the service?what kind of service do you think is the best?
Nan : I think the right service is cleaning service one. UK district is quite clean, you doesn’t want to make it dirty. Hire some dustman and janitor is a good choice. For payment service I think it doesn’t need that much effort, because many people in UK already quite nice because their polite culture .
Aca : well I think that’s all I want to ask, its mean much for me to get your information. Thank you very much nan. I will considerate your thoughts have a great day
By the way its a description of our conversation. We do have the screenshots. Its taken by Ananta(myself) and agisti carissa. What do u think ? Enjoy
HapusBoth of you did a great character, I like it
HapusI think your work is very good, you manage it well and I agree with your answer. great!
Hapusi like your conversation
HapusI'm a little bit intrested when you guys talk about the cozy features, and the design. whether they minimalist or vintage.
Hapusyou both are great!! and the answer from Ananta is very easy to understand
HapusThanks. My pleasure . I love all of your feedbacks!
Hapusour opinion is the same as Nur, they manage the answers well
HapusNice work! The dialogue between you two is fascinating to me. You used a different vocabulary and managed to overshadow the desired architectural shape and design. You exchange ideas with one another in neat language. One thing that is no less important is that your dialogue not only discusses from one side, you include elements of Indonesian and British traditions in the dialogue.
